Dr. Nancy Friessen, BSc, BEd, OD
Nancy grew up in the small town of Leamington, Ontario. After completing a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees from the University of Windsor, Nancy went on to graduate with honours from the University of Waterloo Doctor of Optometry program where she was awarded the CooperVision Contact Lens Award. Nancy’s first clinical externship brought her to Kelowna and the Okanagan lifestyle convinced her to make a permanent move to the Valley after finishing an ocular disease externship in Florida.
In 2015 Nancy went on her first eye care mission trip through Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH International) where the team was able to help thousands of local residents with glasses and referrals to ophthalmologists as needed. Nancy plans on continuing to seek out mission trip opportunities and is always looking for local opportunities to help out.
Outside of the office, Nancy enjoys volunteering at local events, exploring the beautiful Okanagan hiking trails or finding a bit of sunshine on the ski hills.
Dr. Friessen is happy to see new and existing patients at Lake Country Optometry.
